- 200 ml cooking cream (nata para cocinar)
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- Salt to taste
- A pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter until liquid but do not let it brown.
- Gradually sprinkle in the flour while stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.
- Slowly pour in the cooking cream and mix to avoid lumps.
- Stir in the ground black pepper and adjust seasoning to taste.
- Add salt and nutmeg if desired, mixing well.
- Turn the heat to low and let it simmer for about 3 minutes.
Notes
For alternatives, use heavy cream or sour cream if out of cooking cream, and cornstarch instead of flour if necessary. Cheese can also be added for extra richness.
