Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a large bowl, melt the butter.
  4. Mix the melted butter with the sugar.
  5. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Add the vanilla extract.
  7. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  8. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  9. If desired, fold in walnuts.
  10. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking at 20 minutes with a toothpick.
  12. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
