Description
A simple yet delicious chicken dish stuffed with apples and sage, perfect for impressing your friends and family.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 25 g grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 60 g breadcrumbs
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 apple, peeled and diced (Granny Smith or your choice)
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped, or 1 teaspoon dried sage
- Olive oil, for greasing
- Black pepper, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Toothpicks or kitchen twine
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and grease a baking dish with olive oil.
- In a bowl, mix the sage, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan cheese (if using). Season with salt and pepper and let cool.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion, then the garlic, and finally the apple for about 5 minutes, until soft.
- Make a lateral cut in each chicken breast to form a pocket. Stuff them with the apple and sage mixture and secure with toothpicks or twine.
- Season the stuffed chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- In an oven-safe skillet, brown the chicken breasts on both sides for 2 to 3 minutes until golden.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until cooked through.
Notes
Ensure the oven is preheated before baking and do not overstuff the chicken to avoid mess.
