- 2 cebollas picadas
- 2 chiles verdes picados
- 2 ramas de apio picadas
- 2 latas champiñones escurridos
- 1 tallo puerro picado (optional)
- 1 calabacita picada (optional)
- 1 kg carne molida
- 5 dientes de ajo
- 2 latas sopa de tomate
- 1 botella grande salsa de chile
- 2 latas pasta de tomate
- 1 lata tomates en cubos
- 1 zanahoria picada
- 1 taza 7up
- 3 hojas de laurel
- 2 cucharadas perejil picado
- 1/2 cucharadita chile molido
- 1 cucharadita tomillo
- 1 cucharadita mejorana
- 1/4 cucharadita pimienta de cayena
- 2 cucharadas salsa HP
- 2 cucharadas salsa Worcestershire
- 2 cucharadas salsa Heinz 57
- Q.S. salt and pepper
Instructions
- Heat Things Up: Grab a large pot and melt some butter over medium heat. Toss in the chopped onions, chiles, and celery. Cook until they soften, just keep stirring.
- Brown That Meat: Add the ground beef to the mix and allow it to brown nicely, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.
- Mix It All Together: Add in all the canned tomatoes, the chile sauce, and the 7Up. Stir until well combined.
- Season It Up: Toss in the bay leaves, parsley, and other spices. Salt and pepper to your taste.
- Let It Simmer: Bring to a simmer, lower the heat, and let it cook for about 120 minutes.
