Ingredients

  • 300 g fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 200 ml cooking cream
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • A pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and slice them thinly.
  2. Finely chop the onion and garlic.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat.
  4. Sauté the onion and garlic until golden and soft, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  5. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring regularly.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, mixing well.
  7. Pour in the cooking cream and let it simmer gently for about 5 minutes until thickened.

Notes

This sauce pairs well with pasta, chicken, and can even enhance leftover pizza. Adjust seasoning to taste.
